I can barely eat anything and feel sick all day. Is this level of morning sickness expected or should I see a doctor?
Nausea in week 6 is very common and usually peaks around weeks 8–10. Try eating small, frequent meals and keeping crackers by your bedside. If you cannot keep any food down at all, do see your doctor — that level of vomiting (hyperemesis gravidarum) can need treatment with IV fluids or medication.
I felt exactly the same at 6 weeks! My doctor recommended vitamin B6 supplements and it made a huge difference within a few days. Also switching to smaller, more frequent meals helped a lot. Hang in there — for most people it eases up around week 12–14.
Ginger tea worked wonders for me. I would sip a cup 15 minutes before getting out of bed. Also smelling a fresh lemon slice when nausea hit was surprisingly effective. You're not alone — this phase feels endless but it does pass!
